Health Care through the eyes of photographer Skeeter Hagler:
Skeeter has specialized in health care photography for the past 25 years. He has shot for every major hospital in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area and many hospitals around the country.
Skeeter is regularly recognized by his peers and has been honored with awards from the national Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions and he received the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council's Distinguished Media award for his work at area hospitals. Skeeter said after receiving the Hospital Council's Distinguished Media award "I probably have two great loves in my life: photography and kids, and doing work for children hospitals allows me to combine both of those."
Telling the stories that make up a hospital through pictures is a great responsibility. If you're successful, you shouldn't even need words; you should be able to tell the story with the pictures alone. Skeeter's goal is to show the pain, the caring and the recovery that characterizes life at a hospital.
Over the years, Skeeter has formed lasting relationships with many hospitals. University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Parkland Memorial Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital, Cook's Children's Hospital, Baylor Hospital, and Texas Health Resources are a few of the health care organizations Skeeter has shot for
Skeeter has shot well over 60 covers for Children Medical Center of Dallas's "ChildTimes" magazine. Each "ChildTimes" cover features a Children Medical Center's patient success story.
At a children's hospital there is a constant interaction between doctors, nurses, young patients, their parents and the hospital staff. A hospital is like a family with many different parts and personalities. The patient is always the focus of activity. Getting the hospital's message across to the public, through photos, has an important and lasting effect.
